West Austin Dance Academy Levels

At West Austin Dance Academy we strive to deliver the highest caliber of technique in all our dance classes.  We concentrate on the quality of education and we stand by that. Due to that, we have adjusted our levels for the 2018-2019 Season to best suite the needs of the dancers.

Lil Stars  is for your very youngest dancers.  The dancers usually start at about 2-2.5 and have never had any dance before.  We transform their class time into creativity and movement where they are free to be themselves, and are also learning the basics of dance!

Shooting Stars is for your pre-k dancers.  These dancers are 3.5-4.5 at the beginning of the school year.  The younger ones in this class have graduated out of their Lil Stars Class.  These dancers start to flourish and bloom moving into more technically driven (but still play based) training.

Shining Stars is the program for your 5-7 year old dancers.  We have three levels in this age range, 1, 2 and 3.  The first two levels are for your dancers looking to stay in combo classes.  The first level is for dancers who have little to no experience. The second level are dancers who do have experience in that style.  Then the third level is for your older and more experienced dancers - moving out of combo classes into 45 minute structured lessons.

Rising Stars is the program for your 8-12 year old dancers.  The program consists of four levels in this age range, 1, 2, 3 and 4.  Our level 1 is for dancers with less experience, our level 2 is for intermediate dancers, level 3 is advanced and level 4 is when we start our pre-professional levels for dancers thinking they may want a future in dance.

Super Novas is the oldest program for dancers 13 and up.  Again we have 4 levels, the first level being for dancers who have very little experience, the second for dancer who are experienced but have other interests, and don’t spend quite as much time in the studio.  Then the level 3 and 4 are the pre-professional levels. These dancers are required to take 15 or more hours a week and are gearing up for college and professional dance programs.

*This list is to guide you into the correct classes.  As always, we are here to help and can answer any questions you may have!  We look forward to dancing with you this year!
